"^_^ That's all I can say about my new resume and cover letter. This is amazing, Eb. I have to admit, there's no way I could've done anywhere near as good a job on that cover letter as you have. You actually got everything I have trouble communicating out there for me. If I make any changes, it'll ruin the whole thing. Thank you SO much. I'm going to show Cherice (My wife) the next chance I get. I'll also be replacing all of my online resumes with this one tomorrow night. Awesome stuff! Thanks to the help I received I was able to get a good job at Northrop Grumman. Everything was just so well done, I mean I couldn't think of anyways to make any improvements on what she did."

Who I Work With

I mainly work with professionals within alternative communities such as, but not limited to Goth and GLBPQT.

This includes men, women, and everything in-between or on the perimeter. Almost all of them have completed formal education beyond high school such as a trade, associates, or bachelor’s degree. Many of them have graduate degrees, or are fully or part-time self-employed.

Many of the clients I work with are fighting to be taken seriously because of they way they dress or sway. They could be distracted by having to fend off a flurry of rude questions about their lifestyle or untraditional career occupation. Sometimes the only work related problem they have is the pressing need to re-engineer their resume and build confidence during interviews so they can reach their goals. They would rather enjoy their pre-club meal without worrying if a co-worker is going to spot them in their getup and call them out on it at work the next day (possibly ruining any chances of getting a promotion or being the bud of jokes for the rest of the year). They want to feel confident about their job or career choice and minimize barriers to their success that could result from stereotypes, assumptions, and beliefs from others in their lives.

A rough breakdown of my client demographics would look like the below with a healthy overlap between Tiers One and Two. I will update these numbers if and as they fluctuate.

Tier One (Dark Cultures/Alternative)

  • 60% Goth (Goth is so beautifully diverse within itself, that it wouldn't do it justice to attempt to go into the specific types and subgroups here)
  • 10% Fetish/Metal heads/Hellions/Punks/other groups with in the dark alternative scene

Tier Two (Alternative)

  • 10% GLBPQT (GayLesbianBisexualPansexualQuestioningTransgender)

Tier Three

  • 14% Everyday people. Particularly since two areas I'm particularly versed in are Federal/Government and the Medical/ Health care industries. Many of these come from medical students applying to Residencies needing editing and assessment services for their application statements and CV's or Government applicants needing KSA editing services and help navigating the often complex and overwhelming application process including developing keyword targeted electronic federal resumes.)
  • 5% Corporate (that require unique diversity training, mediation with alternative employee(s), workshops, classes, supervisors who need help understanding/managing alternative employee(s)

Do Any of These Sound Familiar?

  • "Listening to my co-workers talk is like listening to nails on a chalk board. Excruciatingly painful. I cringe and it shows. There’s nothing intelligent, open-minded, meaningful or interesting about their conversation. I have nothing in common with them and don’t want to. I either try in vain to pretend to care, which makes me feel like a sell-out, or I don’t say much which makes me stand out even more, solidifying the fact that I’m different which means it’s okay to make me the target of daily teasing and name calling."
  • "I’ve been passed over for two promotions and I’m thinking about leaving. Each time they said it’s because I scare the customers. I’ve received nothing but kudos from the customers – I know who’s really afraid. They said I won’t make manager at the agency because of the way I dress. Is that even legal? That’s the thing – you have to look like the boss to get promoted…and I don’t look like the boss. As a matter of fact, I probably look like the bosses worse nightmare. They don’t take me seriously. But I don’t care. Well, I do want the money, I deserve it. My numbers constantly exceed my peers. Yeah, I do care, I just don’t want to sacrifice who I am and how I choose to express myself to play their game. Schmoozing with normal people shouldn't take up half of my job description."
  • "At least twice a week I’m the walking dead. Who came up with the 8-5 concept anyway? It doesn’t make any sort of sense. Work is so strict and stiff that in order to stay sane I have to go out and enjoy the scene. So twice a week I’m either a sane zombie or a frustrated prick. I wish I could work on my own terms or have a more flexible work environment.

Sometimes the situation is so sereve that you may have to leave your job for a more suitable environment, other times a situation can be successfully addressed where you are. Through our partnership, I facilitate the process of moving you forward to maximize your professional potential through a creative exploration all of your options, providing feedback, and evaluating and then strengthening your marketability to better achieve your goals.

I Will Have The Greatest Success With Clients Who

Are Committed To Action. You’re looking for help in getting out of the rut and moving forward, not hand-holding. You genuinely want to articulate your goals and achieve your dreams and you’re willing to step outside of your comfort zone to do so.

Are Solution Oriented. Focused on discovering and examining solutions, not swimming in the problem and breathing in the past.

Have high Self-Worth. You are willing to invest in yourself. You know that you’re worth it and are willing to make yourself, your career and goals your priority while we work together.
